For Trial Listening was originally released in 2013 as a very limited run of cassettes on a label called Carpi Records based in Lyon, France. It is a collection of some of my early ambient experiments under the now defunct Happy Trendy alias. These songs were made around the time I was just finishing high school. The tape may catch the ears of listeners of my more recent albums New Tab and Beautiful You as I feel more and more over the years, the music of my past has informed what I end up making these days. This is one of my favourite and most personal releases and I am happy to bring it back to light with a cassette reissue on Khotin Industries as well as making it available to streaming and digital services for the first time.
